Living Below the Line to Help other Live Above it

Live Below the Line is a simple way to better understand extreme poverty, and make a real impact. From May 6th – 10th, join thousands of Australians taking the challenge to eat on $2 a day for five days – the equivalent of the extreme poverty line. It’s a worthwhile experience that gives you a window into the day-to-day lives of people living in poverty.
Money raised through Live Below the Line will be dedicated to those living in extreme poverty. We believe the best way to help them break out of their poverty cycle is through education and skills training.

Why $2
A DAY?
Since 2005, the World Bank has defined the extreme poverty line as surviving on less than US$1.25 a day. So how did we get to an extreme poverty line of $2 in Australia today? It's two simple steps!

The Impact so Far?

In 2012 Live Below the Line had it's most successful year yet, with over 7800 Australians taking the challenge to eat on $2 a day for five days.
Together, with over 50,000 donors, we raised over $1.92 million for schools and teachers in places like Papua New Guinea and Cambodia.

Let's top it in 2013!
